Catherine Sylvia Bean, 71, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Willis H. and Sylvia M. (Luikart) Mutti, Catherine was born in Union Hospital at Dover on September 17, 1944.
Catherine graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1962. She was an active member of Community of Christ Church at New Philadelphia and was currently employed as a teller at the Dover location of the First National Bank of Dennison. Previously, she was employed at Union Camp in Dover.
In her spare time, Catherine enjoyed quilting, embroidery and cooking and entertaining. Most of all she found great joy in taking care of her nieces family, Susan Morehead and her husband, Paul and their children, Lindsey, Mitchell and Logan Richard.
She is survived by a sister, Cora (John) Welling of New Philadelphia; her nieces and nephews, Mary Welling, Carol (Jim) Boltz and Susan, Angela and Dean (Mary) Mutti; her great nephews, Brent (Inglill) Mutti and Chase and Weston Boltz and her special family members, Susan and Paul Morehead and their children, Lindsay, Mitchell and Logan Richard.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert L. Bean, her son, Richard Hugh Bean, three brothers, Earl, John and Dale Mutti and three infant sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Catherine’s life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Elder Patty Spears and Todd MacMath officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
