Catherine Linard

Catherine “Cathy” Louise Linard, 63, of Dover, passed away suddenly July 12, 2014, in her home following an apparent heart attack.

Born August 9, 1950 in Martins Ferry, she was the daughter of the late Francis Tom and Ruth E. (Davis) Jarvis. Cathy was a 1968 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and enjoyed collecting baskets, spending time with her cats, and gardening.

On August 20, 1977, she married Roger J. Linard who survives. She will be also missed by her sons, Michael “Chip” (Rita) King of New Philadelphia and Joe D. (April) Linard of Dover; grandchildren, Ashlin King, Jett and Daisy Linard, Brittany (fiancé Kyle Baab) Grages, Kristie (significant other, Jonathan Fisher) Contini, Corey (significant other, Breana Best) Contini, and David Richards; great-grandchildren, Aiden Baab and Julian Fisher; and her former daughter-in-law, Tonia Rees.

Visitation will be held in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Scot Caley officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to Cathy’s family.
