Cassius C. Nation

August 22, 1944 — March 17, 2003

CASSIUS C. NATION, 58, died peacefully at his Sugarcreek home on Monday, March 17, 2003. He was born in Flint, MI, the only child to Atlee O. and Rosalee Stubbs Nation. Cassius attended elementary school in Flushing, OH and graduated from Cadiz High School. He served honorably with the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Maddox during the Vietnam War. By profession, Cassius worked for GTE as a splicer and retired after 30 years of service. A kind and gentle soul, Cassius loved all God’s creatures. His companion of more than seventeen years, Joanne K. Kopka; daughter, Arlene D. Nation of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, Clay David Nation of New Philadelphia; and his parents, Atlee & Rosalee Nation of Cadiz, survive him. Private services will be held at a later date. In honor of his life, contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, P. O. Box 92, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
