Carson M. Mast, Jr. age 71 of Dover, passed away peacefully early Sunday evening, February 3, 2013 in Union Hospital at Dover.
Born at Barrs Mills, Ohio, January 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Carson Monroe, Sr. and Mary Ellen Miller Mast.
For most of his life, Carson worked as a truck driver for Wilmot Mining before going to work at Zoar Mining until retirement six years ago.
He’ll be remembered as a hardworking man, who enjoyed tinkering with machines, and who had a natural ability to fix just about anything. In his spare time he enjoyed attending auctions and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Kay” Mast of Dover, as well as his three daughters and two sons, Donna (James) Anderson of Ripley, West Virginia, Robert Mast of Orrville, Connie (Danny) Williams of Orrville, Glen Mast of Wooster, and Mildred (Phil) Maxey of Ripley, West Virginia, and two step-children; Denise (Ron) Bachman of Millersburg, and Richard (Theresa) Kling of Nashville, O.
He’ll be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Kristy, James, Ronnie, Mary Beth, Melissa, Danielle, Brittany, Lori, Chad, Ashley and twins Corey and Shane. Numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
A sister, Judy Fantine of New Philadelphia and a brother, Glen Mast of Dover, as well as his former wife, Deloris Cecil of Orrville, complete the family.
In addition to his parents, Carson is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sue Ellen Mast and his brother, Paul Mast.
The Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey will officiate Mr. Mast’s funeral Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 2013 at 1 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where the family will receive friends for an hour before the service. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.
