Carolyn S. Crane

Carolyn S. Crane, 67, of Strasburg, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness.Born December 8, 1941 in Loogootee, Indiana, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Arnold and Alberta (Crane) Zigler.Carolyn, who family and friends referred to as “Sarge”, was a longtime resident of Loogootee, Indiana until moving to Ohio in 1973. Prior to her retirement she worked as a home health aide. She is survived by her loving son, Richard Scott Trambaugh of New Philadelphia; three sisters, Phyllis Bateman and Cathy Gingerich both of New Philadelphia and Cindy Derrick of Dover; two granddaughters; a great grandson; three nephews; one niece; five great nieces; one great nephew; her best friend, Faye McFeeders of Dover and her beloved dog, Tessica “Tessie”.Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; a half brother; one nephew; one niece and a faithful companion, her dog Charlie.The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, cremation will follow visitation through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.Contributions may be made in Carolyn’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 West Market Street, Suite 108, Akron, OH 44313.
