Caroline Winn Hawk, age 73 of Dover, Ohio, passed away November 3, 2006, following a brief illness. Caroline was born at Columbus, Ohio, on October 2, 1933, the daughter of the late Gussie (Bailey) Raymond and Thomas P. Winn. She was a graduate of Bexley High School in Columbus, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University. Along with her husband, she owned Hawk’s Card & Hobby Shop and The Sweet Shop in downtown Canton. She also worked as the assistant to the Vice President for Advertising of Citizens Savings Association; the gift buyer for Stern and Mann’s, and in sales for life and cancer insurance companies. For the past 30 years she has been the owner and president of Timber Line Products, Inc. in Sugarcreek, Ohio and also a dealer for Lincoln Logs Ltd. Besides the love of work and cooking, Caroline served as President of American Business Women’s Association and in 1978 received their Boss of the Year Award. She was a former member and Sunday School teacher at First Lutheran Church in Canton and most recently a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dover, Ohio.She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Winn.Caroline is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David Nelson Hawk; two daughters, Kathleen (John) Ross of Canton, Ohio, Cynthia (James) Black of Westerville, Ohio; grand-daughter, Sarah C. (Scott) Stecher; grandsons, Benjamin Black, Christopher Black; step grandchildren, Stuart Ross and Oliva Ross; sister-in-law, Carole Lynch of Peachtree City, Georgia, Judith (Lewis) Hart of Massillon, Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.Private interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 909 E. Tuscarawas Street, Canton, Ohio.
