Carole K. Henderson

Carole Katherine Henderson, 85, of Dover, passed away peacefully in Hennis Care Center at Dover on October 28, 2024, following a short period of declining health.

Born in Cleveland on May 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Sheridan and Dorothy Mae (Wardeska) Smith.

Carole married the late Larry Alvin Henderson in 1963 and they shared their lives together until his passing in 1999.

Carole first moved to Tuscarawas County to take up teaching and continued her love of teaching as a substitute teacher with local schools while raising her family and beyond. An avid reader her entire life, she also enjoyed hiking and travelling. She was nine years old when the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) last won the World Series, and continued to follow them throughout her life. 

Carole is survived by her sons, Gregory (Melissa) Henderson of London, Ohio, Scot (Kuniko) Henderson of Illinois, and David Henderson of New York, along with her five grandchildren, and her brother, Roger (Marcia) Smith of Connecticut.

A private graveside service will be held in Foxfield Preserve Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 7th, from 6-8pm at Old Store Winery, 2260 Ragersville Road SW Sugarcreek, OH 44681.
