Carole Anne Hobart, 67, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord early Monday, May 07, 2012 after suffering a stroke in February 2011 and a recent battle with ovarian cancer.
A daughter of Carlena (Davidson) Hobart of New Philadelphia and the late Dale Hobart, Carole was born on September 24, 1944 at Goshen, Ohio.
Carole attended Starlight School and was a member of the inaugural class. She was also employed at Starlight Enterprises.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Sunday School Class at First Bapist Church at New Philadelphia. Carole enjoyed listening to country music as well as attending the circus. Carole dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed family outings, holidays and dining at restaurants with them.
Carole was a true blessing in the lives of her family. Her family will be forever grateful for her presence and all that she taught them about love, compassion and being a friend.
She is survived by her mother, five siblings, Russ (Ruth Ann) Hobart of Goshen, Nancy Grinstead of New Philadelphia, Dan (Diana) Hobart of Uhrichsville, Peggy (Larry) Jacobs of Conesville, Ohio and Lori Carpenter of Dayton, Texas; 13 nieces and nephews, RaGina Duckworth, Kimberly and Travis Hobart, Jeff Grinstead, Tracy Aubihl, Toni Dodd, Jennifer Zimmerman, Jackie Busby, Jessica and John Jacobs, Jennifer Cochran and Kyle and Levi Carpenter; 19 great nieces and great nephews; several cousins and her roommates, Mary Jane and Rosalie and her caregivers at the Front Street Group Home.
Carole was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, John and Carrie (Haney) Hobart and Luther and Dora (Scott) Davidson and two brothers-in-law, Charles Grinstead and Mark Carpenter.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Carole’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with David Millard officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
