Carol Rose Vandenburg, 74, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, October 12, 2015 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a declining period of health.
A daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Downing) Warner, Carol was born March 18, 1941 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.
Carol graduated from Stonecreek High School in 1959 and then attended Columbus Business School. She worked as a ticket agent at O’Hare Field and was Co-Owner of Vanco Packaging.
She was a longtime resident of Florida and returned home to New Philadelphia at the onset of her illness in 2013. She led a very active life and was always in charge of her daily events. She enjoyed volunteering with the local hospice in Florida as well as traveling.
She is survived by a sister, Linda (Carroll) Keener of New Philadelphia; a brother, David (Donna) Warner of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews as well as the family of her late companion, William “Bud” Joyce.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lenny Vandenburg whom she married on April 27, 1985 and her late companion, William “Bud” Joyce.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service celebrating Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
