Carol L. Kappeler

Carol L. Kappeler, a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister, passed away in Community Hospice House on Saturday, February 22, 2014 following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.

Born in Dennison on March 11, 1945, she was the daughter of Doris E. (Scott) Kinsey Fowler and the late W. Dean Kinsey.

After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1963, Carol married her lifelong companion and friend, Larry J. Kappeler. On June 22, 2013 they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Together, they were members of Sacred Heart Church. Carol also enjoyed her membership with the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority of New Philadelphia and her previous employment with the Tuscarawas County Health Department.

She will be deeply missed by her mother, Doris; her husband, Larry; her sons, John (Nan) Kappeler of Huntington Beach, California, Jerry Kappeler of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jamie Kappeler of Wichita, Kansas; her brother, Jim (Connie) Kinsey of New Philadelphia; and her nephew, Mike (Joanna) Kinsey and their son, Parker of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her niece, Kate Kinsey; and her in-laws, Elmer and Elvira Kappeler.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service commencing at 6:45 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to St. Ambrose Hall following the committal service where Carol’s church family will host a meal.
