Carol J Anderson

December 10, 1946 — August 11, 2012

Carol J. Anderson, age 65, of Tuscarawas, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Saturday evening, August 11, 2012, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.

Born at Wheeling, West Virginia, December 10, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Joseph William and Gertrude Cologie Cook. She was reared in Cadiz, but Carol completed her education in Midvale when her family relocated there during her junior year. She graduated from Midvale High School with the class of 1964.

Two years later, she married Robert D. Anderson, Sr. on June 2, 1966, and together they set out on a journey that would span the past 46 years with both tears of joy and sorrow.

A homemaker for most of her life, Carol devoted her time to the upbringing of her sons. She was active as a den mother as they went through scouting, served as president of the booster clubs as they went through high school sports, and tended with love and kindness to their every need.

She enjoyed crafts and ceramics, was a talented painter and seamstress. She believed in serving the community, and was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tusky Volunteer Fire Department.

The Andersons were members of the Sharon Moravian Church and served as dieners within the congregation.

Carol was an avid fan of NASCAR and especially the Earnhart family, but most especially Jr.

She’ll be sadly missed by her husband, of Tuscarawas, as well as her four sons; Robert D. Anderson, Jr, and his wife Cindy of Midvale, William “Bill” Anderson and his wife Rhea of Wainwright, Christopher Anderson and his wife, Robyn of Uhrichsville, and Joshua Anderson and his wife Abbie of Dennison.

Eleven grandchildren; Randel and Ryan Anderson of Wainwright, Robby Anderson of Midvale, Logan J. and Alexa Anderson of Wainwright, Brandon Anderson of Midvale, Logan M. Anderson of Uhrichsville, Cari and Cameron Anderson of Midvale, Macey and Mannix Anderson of Dennison also survive.

Several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Norma J. Cook of Cadiz, Linda Nedro of Mobile, Alabama, Barbara Fox and Jim Anderson, both of Dover, Sonja Walters and Debbie Baxter, both of Wooster, also survive.

Many nieces and nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph “Ike” Cook and brother-in-law, Millard R. Anderson.

Friends are invited to call Friday, August 17, from 2-4 and from 6-8 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the Rev. Dennis G. Rohn will lead a funeral service for Carol Saturday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home’s chapel.
