Carol Ann Prysi

Carol Ann Prysi, 76, of Elyria, formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2013 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria after a lengthy illness. Carol was a long-time resident of New Philadelphia.
She was the daughter of Herman R. and Murrel C. Prysi of New Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister, Martha J. Prysi. Carol is survived by her son Thomas Janus, daughter-in-law Jennifer Janus, and three grandchildren, Zachary, Jacqueline and Adamarie Janus, all of Elyria.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a 1959 graduate of Bowling Green State University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in art education. She had worked as an art teacher in Elyria and North Madison school districts, an illustrator for American Greetings and Halle’s department store in Cleveland, a sales associate for Himelhoch’s department store in Dearborn, Michigan and an assistant manager of Yum Yum Tree in New Philadelphia. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia where she was in the choir for many years. She enjoyed fine arts, music, travel and flower gardening.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Christopher Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
