Carlos Leo Blankenship, Jr., 63, of Port Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Aultman Select Specialty Hospital at Canton, following a period of declining health.
Born on August 13, 1960 in Charlottesville, Virginia, Leo was a son of the late Carlos Leo and Catherine Virginia (Stevens) Blankenship, Sr.
Leo loved to ride his motorcycle and could often be found supporting a local charity ride. Always ready for a family gathering, he was famous for bringing Chicken Wings to these events. He owned his own trucking business for many years, until his health declined
He is survived by his children, Teia (JaVaughn Weathers) Lukens of Lakewood, Washington, Ryan (Whitney Moore) Blankenship of New Philadelphia, and Brandi (David) Gadfield of Midvale; grandchildren, Mariah Lukens, Kelayrah Lukens, Shala ‘Yah Lukens, LaKayah Lukens, Porter Blankenship, Hudson Blankenship, Kaden Smith, Kason Smith, Kaylee Smith, and Kenadi Smith; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Sanchez; sister, Louise (Jeff) McDonald; brother, Leon Blankenship; fur baby, Leah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by an infant sister; and his brother, Larry Blankenship.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation care has been entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of his life will be held in the summer.
