Carl E. Jenkins

Carl J. Jenkins, 92, of Midvale, died peacefully in his family residence of more than sixty years early Saturday morning, July 3, 2004. Born in Tippecanoe, August 25, 1911, Carl was one of eleven children born to the late Harry and Elizabeth Van Fossen Jenkins. As a young man, Carl was helpful around his family home, assisting in raising his younger brothers and sisters. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was active in farming during and well-after his thirty-three year career at the former Joy Manufacturing. He was an avid coon hunter, fox hunter, and ginseng hunter. Survivors include his longtime companion Mary Ann Angeletti, daughters Jeanette (Ronnie) Dague of Stillwater, O; Martha (Larry) Stein of New Philadelphia; Margaret Walters of Pittsfield, PA; and sons Larry J. Jenkins of Midvale; and Carl H. Jenkins (and companion Mary Ann) of Canton, S.D. who survive, as well as three children who precede their dad in death, the late Carla Jenkins, Jess Jenkins, and an infant son, Danny. Mr. Jenkins will be sadly missed by 18 grandkids, many, many great-grandchildren, sisters; Lucille Johns, Belva (Dale) Squires, Leona Johns, Elizabeth Jenkins, Lorie Collins, and a brother Gene Jenkins. In addition to his parents and three children, four brothers; John, Dwight, Harry, and Earl Jenkins precede Carl in death. Friends are invited to call Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia. Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 PM in Roxford Church Cemetery. Following the committal service, a family gathering will be held at Carl’s residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622, in gratitude for their exemplary care of Mr. Jenkins.
