Cameron Dale Arnold

July 8, 2004 — May 1, 2010

Cameron Dale Arnold, 5, of Midvale went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Akron Children’s Hospital. Cameron may have suffered from a 2 ½ year illness but will always be remembered as “The little guy who stood up to life like a man”.A son of Brian and Janice (Byers) Arnold, Cameron was born July 8, 2004 in Union Hospital at Dover. He attended Starlight School and was a member of New Life Center Ministries at New Philadelphia.During his all too short life, Cameron made a huge impact on many people with his orneriness and loving spirit. Just a few of the things he will be remembered most for are his persistence for wanting to go bye-bye and turning on and off light switches. In addition to Brian and Janice, Cameron is survived by his sister, Christine Wise and brother Kyle Wise of the home; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Byers of Midvale; his paternal grandmother, Sandra (Mike) McBride of Beach City and his paternal grandfather, Roger (Mary) Arnold of Uhrichsville.Completing the family are aunts, Joyce Byers of Midvale, Lynette (Daniel) Weber of Uhrichsville, Jessica (Dale) Carothers of Dennison, Michelle (Mike) Cadle of Uhrichsville and Becky Arnold of Uhrichsville and an uncle, Greg (Kristi) Arnold of Uhrichsville.Cameron was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold “Lefty” Byers and paternal great grandmother, Doris Arnold. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Cameron’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Fred Battles officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the following staff members at Akron Children’s Hospital for their exemplary care for Cameron and the compassion shown to them during his stay there: Dr. Henry Bartkowski, Dr. Donna Patton, Dr. Sarah Friebert, and Dr. Kathy Kelly-Langen and the nurses from the 5600 unit, Brandi, Tina, Providence, Amanda W. and Kasey. The family also extends their appreciation to all of the staff at Starlight School for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the form of balloons and cookies, the two things Cameron enjoyed most. These items can be delivered to either the funeral home or to the family’s residence.
