He earned certification from Rutgers University and became an alcoholism counselor in the states of Florida, North Carolina, West Virginia and Maryland, helping to rescue countless lives from the grips of addiction. Beau was proud to be a longtime Friend of Bill. In 1986, he retired a second time from serving as a consultant to the Friary in Pensacola, Florida, and the Palm Beach Institute. Upon his relocation to Dover, Ohio in September, 1986, he became an active member of Saint Joseph Parish at Dover, where he served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. For many years, he lead the local organization of the Third Order of Saint Francis, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His volunteer efforts were largely to the benefit of Hospice of Tuscarawas County, and the residents of Park Village Health Care Center. On December 13, 1974, Beau married the former Barbara Studer-Widder, of Dover, who survives. His family also includes Barbara’s daughter, whom he loved as his own, Laura and husband Michael McDugall, of Jupiter, Florida, and grandchildren Heather, Abby Rose, Andrew and Eric. Beau was especially fond of his special nieces and nephews who completed his family. In addition to his parents, Beau is preceded in death by his wife’s daughter, Jena, and his brothers-in-law, Thomas Watson and Samuel Studer. Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, October 15 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father William Arnold as Celebrant. Immediately following Mass, the family will host a reception for friends in the St. Joseph Family Life Center, across Tuscarawas Avenue from the church.
