Brenda Kaye Evans

Brenda Kaye Evans, 53, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her home.

A daughter of Wilma (Lawson) Russell and the late Robert Russell, Brenda was born April 14, 1960 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.

Brenda had a passion for singing and she was a member of the former band, “Undecided”. She also cherished her family and the time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Frankie Evans whom she married on July 5, 2013; her children, Marlaina Heffner of Oklahoma, Shawn Coleman of New Philadelphia, Josh (Kasey) Garabrandt of Roswell, Sarah Hamlin of New Philadelphia and Destiny (Andy) Garabrandt of New Philadelphia, 13 grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Tracy) Russell of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Robin (George) Johnson of Dover and Teresa Russell of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father and her former husband, Joseph Gillespie.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Andy McClung officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
