Brenda S. Hoffman, age 42, of Cambridge, died Thursday evening in Good Samaritan Hospital at Zanesville as a result of injuries sustained during an accident; while doing what she loved best, training for a triathlon.
A daughter of Ralph Hoffman of Newcomerstown, and Nancy (Stoffer) Hoffman (companion, Tim Cooper) of Coshocton, Brenda was born at Coshocton Hospital on August 4, 1972.
Following graduation from Ridgewood High School, Brenda went on to attend The Ohio State University and completed her certification as a Physical Therapist from MATC. She later furthered her education through the University of Findlay where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration. She was currently employed by Genesis Health Care as a Physical Therapist and had a great appreciation for her job knowing she was helping others.
Brenda’s time away from work was spent in various activities which included biking, running, swimming, competing in triathlon events, and for a number of years, league bowling alongside her mother at Newcomerstown. She also greatly enjoyed farming, vacationing at the beach, and taking fishing trips to Canada.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Newcomerstown, and enjoyed rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, she loved cheering for the younger members of her family as she attended and supported each of them in their own sporting events and activities.
In addition to her parents, Brenda leaves behind the love of her life, her husband, Mike Stottsberry; three children, Brent Stottsberry, Tina Stottsberry and Lori (Kim) Caim all of Cambridge, and four grandchildren, Beau and Trey Stottsberry, Kinzie Moss, and Madison Caim.
Completing the family are her sister, Denise (Ben) Wright of West Lafayette, her beloved nieces and nephews, Andy (Hannah) Wright, Tiffany (Connor) Quillin, and Whit Wright; and her great-nieces and nephews, Trenton Wright, Jaycelyn Rine and Grayson Hunt.
In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services with cremation taking place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
