Brad D Curran

Brad D. Curran, 63, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully in the Hospice House, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Dover on December 26, 1949, he was the son of the late John R. and Dorothy J. (Willis) Curran.

After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1968, he served his country in the United State Army for 8 ½ years and also served in the National Guard.

Brad advanced his education at Kent State University where he studied electrical engineering. He was employed for numerous years with Howden Buffalo.

Brad was one of the fortunate people in life who met and married his soul-mate. In 1976, he and the former Nora Watson were married, and enjoyed a life filled with laughter, deep passion, and much love.

Not only was he a loving husband, Brad was also a tremendous father who instilled in his two sons a strong work ethic and taught them how to be men and fathers.

Brad was also proud of being a “Friend of Bill” for 31 years. He sacrificed for his family and always put them first no matter what he did or what choice he made.

He will be forever missed by his wife, Nora; his sons, John (Rebekah) Curran of Upper Arlington and Andrew Curran of Tuscarawas; his grandchildren, Caitlen, Brad and Joseph Curran; his sister, Julie Curran of Salem, Massachusetts; his mother-in-law, Eileen Watson of Dover; his sister-in-law, Susan Curran; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Brad was preceded in death by his brother, Brent.

A gathering to celebrate Brad’s life will be held at his home Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m.
