Bonnie Lou Lawver, 82, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, September 4, 2016, while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
Born at New Philadelphia on June 23, 1934, Bonnie was a daughter of the late Henry and Fern (Eichel) Grove.
Bonnie attended New Philadelphia High School and worked for the former Puritan Laundry as well as served as a bartender for numerous area establishments through the years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, bowling, ceramic work, and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband, of 58 years, Glen Lawver, whom she married on September 19, 1958; her children, Marvin Dale (Barb) Haney of New Philadelphia and Sandy Saltz of Massillon; a sister, Hazel Smith of Mineral City; her granddaughters, Gwen Haney and Hope Haney Sheahan; grandsons, Kenny Saltz and Kevin Saltz as well as a great-grandson, Finn Sheahan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert, Donald, Richard, Jack and Robert Grove; and her sisters, Mary Jane Batallio, Lila Vogt and Janet Grove.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from noon to 2 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a service led by Pastor Brian Flood will begin at 2 pm in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
