Bonnie Eileen Davis, age 62 of New Philadelphia and formerly of Dundee died peacefully Monday, October 8, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover.
A daughter of Marie (Ohler) Jones of New Philadelphia and the late Robert E. Jones, Bonnie was born on April 11, 1950 in Union Hospital.
She was a 1968 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and married the love of her life, Doyle Davis on March 15, 1969 at Midvale, Ohio.
As a couple Bonnie and Doyle had three children and Bonnie loved staying at home and caring for and nurturing her family as they grew. She later pursued a career in banking and spent 17 years at the Sugarcreek Branch of Huntington National Bank.
Bonnie had a deep love for the Lord and earned her license as a minister from the Church of God at Cleveland, Tennessee. She was actively involved with women’s ministries in her church and was an advocate and volunteer for the Tuscarawas County Share-A-Christmas Program.
In her free time, Bonnie enjoyed sharing her love for cooking and baking with her family and later had the opportunity to teach her grandchildren about this passion as well. She will forever be remembered for instilling her love of music and singing to each of her family members as well.
In addition to her mother and husband, Bonnie leaves behind her three daughters, Renee (Rich) Garner of Columbus, Stephanie (Neal) Yoder of Bolivar and Holly (Brian) Yoder of Dundee; a sister, Jane (Floyd) Stein of Dover and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Jones of Dundee.
Seven grandchildren, Lauren, Madeline, and Jack Garner, Noah and Emily Yoder and Luke and Allie Yoder as well as two half-brothers, Kenneth Jones and Raymond Jones; her half-sister, Thelma Davis and two nieces complete the family.
Besides her father, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother Robert C. Jones.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Pastor Mike Noel will lead a service celebrating Bonnie’s life in the Dover Funeral Center on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park.
Following services, the family will return to the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Funeral Center where a meal and fellowship will be shared.
