The family of Blanche Mildred Hazel Bailey McGill Leggett has lost one of their most precious members on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the age of 87.Born in Dayton, Ohio on February 29, 1920, Blanche was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Bertha A. (Sharrock) Bailey.Upon moving to the Tuscarawas Valley as a young girl, she met and married her first husband, the late George McGill on April 14, 1939 and spent most of their married life residing in Dennison, Ohio. Seven years to the day on April 14, their family became complete with the birth of their daughter, Bertha Marie. In the year of 1962, George lost his long battle with cancer and passed away October 22.On July 10, 1965, Blanche married the late Warren Grant Leggett and enjoyed 18 loving years until his passing on July 22, 1983.She enjoyed simple pleasures in life, working hard daily, loving and caring for her family; always putting their needs ahead of her own, enjoying the good times and trusting her faith to carry her through the hard times.She was so proud of every member of her family and especially her son-in-law’s singing and enjoyed dancing as he called square dancing, when her health permitted. She was always there supporting Bill and Bertha and the NuHall Square Dancers at all their events. She will be deeply missed this New Years holiday, which was one time of the year when all the NuHall family enjoyed her famous sauerkraut and pork.Leaving behind a close knit family that will miss her dearly include her daughter and son-in-law, Bertha and Bill Meese of Dennison, with whom she resided with for the past 15 years; her beloved grandchildren, Kimberly and Eric Wallace, Billy and Chris Meese of Dennison and Valerie Wallace of Columbus. She also leaves behind eight great grandchildren that she enjoyed watching grow and blossom, Alyssa Marie Wallace, Jaymie Lee-Ann Wallace, Grant Logan Wallace, Hunter William Meese, Ryan Thomas Meese, Alexis Renae Meese, Brock Allen Meese and Max Philip Bechtel.She is also survived by one sister, Virginia Wolfe Grant of Florida; sisters-in-law, Loretta Bailey of Madison, Ohio, Mary Bailey of Florida and Kathryn (Ted) Canfield of New Philadelphia as well as nieces, nephews and several Leggett family members.Blanche was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Glenn Richard Bailey, John Herbert Bailey and William Everett Bailey.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view an online memorial by visiting the funeral home website.Contributions may be made in Blanche’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
