Billie Mae Fletcher

Billie Mae Fletcher, 81, of New Philadelphia, went home peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2016 in Trinity Twin City Hospital at Dennison.

Born in Lexa, Arkansas on March 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John William and Susie Mae (Williams) Neely.

On December 20, 1952 Billie married her lifelong companion and servant of God, Junious “JL” Fletcher. Together, they raised two children, Pastor Larry (Ruthie) Fletcher of New Philadelphia and Sue (Mark) Burris of Malvern, Arkansas.

For the past 22 years, Billie, or as the children of the church loving referred to her as “Grandma B”, taught children about missions. Throughout those years, Billie helped the children of the church raise more than $20,000 by collecting change for the Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge (BGMC). In their 24 years of ministry with LifeWay Church (former First Assembly of God) at New Philadelphia, Billie and JL served in a variety of capacities.

In addition to her devoted husband and children, Billie will be deeply missed by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and was anticipating the birth of her fourth great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and her great-grandson, Ezekial Kristian Wright.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 11-Noon in LifeWay Church at New Philadelphia where a family led memorial celebration of Billie’s life will begin at Noon. Immediately following the service, all are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the church’s social hall.
