Beverly McCartney

Beverly B. Riggle McCartney, age 77, of Maui, Hawaii, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

A daughter of the late George and Roberta (Simmers) Riggle, Beverly was born at Dover, Ohio on December 27, 1937 and was a 1955 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.

Beverly lived in Dayton, Ohio for many years, and was a part owner of Quig’s Restaurant at Kettering, Ohio, while also taking care of a large farm. Following her retirement, Beverly spent time living in both Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida, before relocating to Maui.

Beverly especially enjoyed traveling and researching family history, having collected many books on her family. Beverly was also known for the large cook-outs she would host for her family.

Beverly is survived by her four children, Carl Kelly (Sandy) McCartney of Cincinnati, Brenda (Keith) Colvin of Ohio, Roberta (Terry) Demaree of Dayton, and Renee Tuenge of Hawaii. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Danielle, Brendon, Torin, Karlyn, and Dallas; and her great-grandchildren, Colton and Owen. Completing the family are her sister, Karen (Larry) Hyskey of Fort Myers, Florida; a nephew, Larry (Debbie) Riggle of Carrollton, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dean McCartney; a brother, Larry G. Riggle; her nephew, Brian Barnett and his daughter, Tiffany Barnett.

Private burial will take place in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
