Beverly Joyce Wills

Beverly Joyce Wills, 82, of New Philadelphia died Sunday evening, October 19, 2003 in Union Hospital at Dover. Born in Canton, O, October 18, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Robert and Leona Nye Joyce. Beverly was a member of Jerusalem Church, having formerly taught Sunday school there. She was also a member of the Tuscarawas County Republican Party, having served for several years as county chairwoman, representing the organization at state and national events. She was also a member of the Tuscarawas County Republican Women. For most of her life, Beverly was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, especially afghans and dolls. Her children and grandchildren will treasure these homemade keepsakes for many years to come. Many people will remember Beverly from her affiliation with Yaggi Cheese House, where she cut and sold cheese for more than three decades.On February 18, 1938, Beverly married Robert Wills. Together they spent more than sixty-five years in marriage that produced a daughter, Adelia (Larry) Hobart of Stone Creek, and a son, Doug (Barb) Wills, of New Philadelphia. Beverly’s other son, Robert Clifton Wills and his wife Carol, died in an automobile tragedy in 1989. She’ll be sadly missed by six grandchildren; Linda and Stephen Spring, Pamela Spring-Feldeisen, Ronald Beal, and David and Greg Wills; fifteen great-grandchildren, one of whom, Kassidy, shared a birthday with Beverly; and a sister Virginia (Stanley) Lippel, of Canton.In addition to her parents, and son and daughter-in-law, Beverly was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Olivia Wills. Friends are invited to call Thursday, October 23, 2003 from 4 until 7 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Rev. Dr. Terry Downin will officiate funeral services Friday at 11:00 in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, following the committal service.
