Beverly Jean Moore, 69 of Crooked Run, entered into her heavenly reward, surrounded by her family in the home she loved, early Sunday morning, January 19, 2003. Born May 11, 1933, in Craftsbury, VT, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Fern Figgins Kennison. After high school, Mrs. Moore entered into the United States Air Force where she earned the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. She also met and married the love of her life while in the service. Beverly was a member of the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School, Directed Nazarene Youth International, and was active in both missions and Journey’s End Ministries. Most of all, this loving wife and mother enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends, especially when fishing, cooking and baking. Survivors include her husband, with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage the May 30, 2003, Francis E. Moore; two daughters, Donna (Rick) Keener of Massillon, and Lori (John) Hanlon of Dover; two sons, Mark (Regina) Moore and David Moore, all of New Philadelphia; nine grandchildren, Buffy Walters, Tiffany and Kara Keener, Elizabeth Wallace, Shawn and Jennifer Moore, Michael Szewczyk, and Calvin and Danielle Hanlon; six great-grandchildren; Alicia Dougherty, Kady and Cresa Walters, Renee Collins, Allison and Charlie Wallace. In addition to her parents, an infant daughter and two sisters precede her in death.Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home. Pastor Don Gainer of the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene will officiate a funeral service Wednesday at 1:30 in the funeral home’s chapel where the VFW Post # 1445 will conduct military honors. Dr. Mark Lail of the Ironton Church of the Nazarene will deliver a eulogy during the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a meal in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
