Beverly Jean Hensley

Beverly Jean Hensley, 66, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, April 16, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a lengthy illness.A daughter of the late George “Bud” and Marion (Hawk) Crawshaw, Beverly was born April 25, 1943 at Dover, Ohio.Beverly graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1961 and was a longtime employee of American Electric Power.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia and was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Beverly was an accomplished musician on a variety of instruments.Surviving are a son, Tyler Hensley; a very special friend, Ethelyn Eichel of New Philadelphia; five siblings, Becky Baker of Shadyside, Ohio, Tom (Judy) Crawshaw of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Curtis (Judy) Crawshaw of Cadiz, Ohio, Melissa Crawshaw of Morrisville, North Carolina and Linda (Glen) Niemeier of Bellbrook, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Beverly’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Richard Greenwood officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Beverly’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 217 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 or to a charity of one’s choice.
