Beulah Schaar, 93, of Dover, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday December 31, 2004 at Park Village Assisted Living where she had resided for the last three years.Born October 27, 1911, on the farm in Sharon Valley, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Lydia Baker Zumbrunnen.Beulah was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and a former member of Sharon Moravian Church, a 65 year member of Nineveh Grange and a member of Pomona Grange, 50 year member of Tuscarawas Co. Homemakers, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Every year Beulah and Dale looked forward to working in the Grange cafeteria at the Tuscarawas Co. fair. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Von) Gordon of Dover, and Treva (Allen) Gaskill of Newcomerstown; a sister, Mary Schwab of Canton; grandchildren, Sherrie, Brenda, Glenn and Olin Gordon and Paula (John) Steel all of Dover, Marla (Manny) D’Ostroph of Lewis Ctr., O., Susan Book, Terry (Sonya) Gaskill and Larry (Dana) Gaskill all of Newcomerstown; and 8 great grandchildren.In addition to her parent’s she was preceded in death by her husband Dale on April 2, 2003, they were married Sept. 20, 1933, and lived and worked on the farm where she was born until moving to New Philadelphia in 1971; Beulah was also preceded by 2 sisters, a brother and a grandson.Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in Sharon Moravian Church with Rev. Michael R. Foran & Rev. William A. Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Moravian cemetery. A reception in the Geib Family Center will follow the interment. The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Tuscarawas Co., Inc. 201 W.
