Beulah Arlene Collins, 92, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Union Hospital following a recent period of declining health.
A daughter of the late William Emmet and Carrie V. (Beaber) Emig, Beulah was born September 9, 1923 at Comins, Michigan.
On July 11, 1947, Beulah married James Curtis Collins and together the couple raised five children, Randall, Rebecca, James, Faye and Nancy. The couple shared 50 years of marriage prior to James’ passing on July 16, 1997.
Beulah was a woman of many talents, especially when it came to quilting, sewing and cooking. She enjoyed gardening and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians. Most of all she cherished her family and took great pride in the fact she was present for most of the births in her family as well as attending the many events her grandchildren were involved with.
She is survived by her children, Randall L. Collins, Rebecca J. Ault, James W. (Deb) Collins all of New Philadelphia, Faye O. Bennington of Strasburg and Nancy C. Collins of Gahanna; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Eaton, Michael (Missy) Collins, Kendra Coburn, David Ault, James (Amy) Collins, Carrie Collins, Ryan Bennington and Jared Bennington; 17 great grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, Taylor, Dakota, Sarah, Kaitey, Kelsey, Kiley, Ethan, Chasta, Kayla, Morgan, James R., Will, Emmet, Ella and Hunter; five great-great grandchildren, Micah, Reagan, Audrina, Emerson and Leon; a brother, Frank Emig of Comins, Michigan and two sisters, Esther Bills of Mio, Michigan and Velma Ouimette of Mount Morris, Michigan.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Clayton Guedel; three brothers, Elton, Wilbert and Gene Emig and a son-in-law, David L. Ault.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Beulah’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
