Betty R. Varner

Betty R. Varner, 73, of Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover, died February 27, 2007 following an extended illness.A daughter of the late Arlie and Icie (Gibson) Hall, Betty was born April 30, 1933 in Fairmont, West Virginia.Betty, who was a member of Baptist Temple Church at Fairmont, is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, John C. Varner. She is also survived by two daughters, Donna Goodwin Barr and her husband Don of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Karen Williams and her husband Greg of Fairmont, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jon (Joy) Gorbey and Sondra (Ben) Jaberg both of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Mandi (Joey) Riddle of Elkins, West Virginia; great grandchildren, Corey Gorbey, Sarah Jaberg and Sarah’s baby brother which is due in July 2007; brother, David (Rose) Hall of Fairmont, West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Leona McVicker and Zettie West and two brothers, Dorsey and Eugene Hall.In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation will take place in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, Ohio. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
