Betty Jean Kamban Montgomery, age 82, of New Philadelphia passed away Thursday morning, December 22, 2011 in Mercy Medical Center following a period of declining health.Born September 30, 1929 in Cambridge, O., Betty was the daughter of the late Martin and Lillie Frances (Groves) Kamban. She attended Uhrichsville High School.Betty spent the majority of her professional career and ultimately retired from Union Hospital. Prior to her employment there, she also worked for the former Joy Manufacturing. In her free time, Betty loved to spend time in her garden and plant flowers. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Charles E. Montgomery who she has shared more than 20 years of marriage. She will be deeply missed by her children, Connie (Jim) Kinsey of New Philadelphia and Terry (Debbie) Cook of Massillon; her grandchildren, Wendy (Chris) Nadeau of Jackson Township, Amber (Darin) Murray of Orrville, and Michael (Joanna) Kinsey of Miamisburg, O.; 5 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Wanda King and Elsie Pounds both of Dennison, Barbara (Richard) McCoy of New Philadelphia, Ann “Dot” Smith of Buffalo, O., Wayne (Sara) Kamban and Don (Helen) Kamban both of New Philadelphia; step-sons, Charles Montgomery of Hubbard, O. and Randal (Becky) Montgomery of North Canton; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katherine Kinsey; two sisters; and two brothers.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
