Betty Jane Justice, age 82, a lifelong resident of the New Philadelphia area, died peacefully early Monday morning, June 6, 2005, in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover. Born in the Baltzey Valley near New Philadelphia, October 27, 1922, she was the last surviving child of the late Ralph and Myrtle Mae Holbein Lute. Betty retired from her work at the former Alsco plant in Sugarcreek. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards. Survivors include her two sons; Virgil (Sandra) Moyer of Massillon, and Robert (Gail) Moyer of Newcomerstown, two daughters; Deanne (Floyd) Conner and Wendy Hidey, all of New Philadelphia, a son-in-law; Boyd “Sonny” Reynolds of Uhrichsville, 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and even one great-great-grandchild, two sisters-in-law; Helen Lute of New Philadelphia, and Sally Lute of Fostoria, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Lula Louise Reynolds, a sister; Ethel Faye Lanzer, two brothers; Ralph and Robert Lute, and a son-in-law, Samuel Hidey. The Rev. Bob Jones will officiate a funeral celebrating Betty’s life Wednesday morning, June 8, 2005 at 11 in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, a reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research fund, 1110 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH, 44106.
