Betty Jane Davis

Betty Jane Davis, age 81, of Schoenbrunn Health Care Center at New Philadelphia, died peacefully Thursday, August 1, 2013, in Union Hospital at Dover.

Born at Warwick Township on July 20, 1932, Betty was a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Carpenter) Davis.

A 1951 graduate of the former Midvale High School, Betty retired from Union Hospital at Dover following many years of service in the housekeeping department. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to country music.

She will be remembered by her family, friends and former co-workers for making delicious fudge and sharing the treat with those around her. Betty was a longtime member of Sharon Moravian Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary (husband, Larry) Everett of New Philadelphia, and Nellie (husband, Robert “Dean”) Turney of New Philadelphia, and her brother Charles J. (wife, Linda) Davis of Strasburg.

Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Miller, and a brother William Davis.

Cremation is planned, and Betty’s family will gather privately for a memorial service before she is laid to rest alongside her parents in Evergreen Burial Park.
