Betty J. Goudy

Betty J. Goudy, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, May 26, 2006 at Hennis Care Center in Dover.Born June 23, 1922 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Hazel (Medley) Robinson. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1940, Betty began her professional career working for Ringheimer Motors and Moffett Motors as a bookkeeper. After her son, Doug, was born, she devoted her time to being a mother and wife. She enjoyed crocheting and made numerous items for her family. She also liked watching television and taking care of the home. Most notably, Betty was an excellent seamstress. She took great pride in making her own clothes throughout her lifetime.Betty is survived by her husband Robert, who she married March 28, 1946. Together, they raised their son, Douglas L. (Becky) of New Philadelphia. She also is survived by nieces, Tammy (John) Davis and Kathie (Scott) Hines, both of Columbus; and three nephews, Paul (Linda) Condon of Canton, Dan (Thelma) Robinson of Columbus and Mark (Paula) Goudy of Bolivar.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Condon and her brother, Gilbert Robinson, Jr.Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel at New Philadelphia. Following the service, burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center following the committal service where a luncheon will be held.
