Betty Eileen Smitley, 77, of Mineral City, died early Sunday morning, March 11, 2007, in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia.A daughter of the late Samuel and Ina Hundall McNutt, Betty was born on May 27, 1929, in Mineral City, Ohio. Betty attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was known as a caretaker and baker.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smitley who she married August 26, 1947, daughter, Cathy; sons, Wilbur, George, and Eugene Jr.; brothers, Donald, Edgar, Franklin, Samuel Jr., and Henry; sisters, Ruby and Cathleen Lenor. She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Leroy) Able of Bolivar, Ohio, and Grace (Timothy) LeMay of Carrollton, Ohio; son, Eric (Jacquilene) Smitley of Zoar, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth, and Linda; brothers, Orvil, Larry, Gary, Floyd, Michael and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.Friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 14, 2007, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home’s Chapel.
