Betty Eileen Benish

Betty “Bet” Eileen Benish, 81, of Dover, formerly of Uhrichsville, died May 30, 2006, at Country Club Retirement Campus.The daughter of the late Virgil and Carrie Mahaffey Hite, Bet was born May 25, 1925, in Uhrichsville.She was a 1943 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a homemaker who enjoyed doting over her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed exercising her mind by reading and doing crossword puzzles.Bet was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia and prayed her devotions daily.She is survived by her children, George (Kelly) Benish of Bowerston, Sherry (Al Davis) Lindon of Dennison, and Scott (Debbie) Benish of Tappan Lake; grandchildren, Erica (Jay) Caldwell, Melissa (Joseph) Reiger, Jessica Benish, Ryan Benish, Lucas (Kate) Lindon and Valle Lindon; and great grandchildren, Lindsay, Matthew and Braden Caldwell and Trenton Llyod.Bet was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Bill Hite.A Mass of Christian Burial for Bet was held June 1, 2006, in Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 139 Third St. NE, New Philadelphia, O., 44663.
