Betty A. Klotz Dominick, age 80 of New Dawn Health Care Center, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born on June 14, 1927, Betty was one of 11 children born to the late John and Rosa Hershey Klotz.In 1946 she married Jasper “Bill” Dominick and together the couple raised four children in the Lock 17 area of Gnadenhutten.Throughout her life Betty’s involvement with her family was held at a very high regard; always wanting to be a part of her children’s lives Betty found time to juggle housework and cooking with their busy schedules. As a Girl Scout leader for one daughter, Betty found time to the attend band shows and football games that her other children were involved with.Additionally, during the summer months, she and her husband were always “working around the house” tending to a large vegetable garden in the back yard and numerous flower gardens that surrounded their Gnadenhutten home.Later, the couple found enjoyment in traveling to her husband’s Navy reunions in various sections of the country. Following Bill’s death in April of 1980 Betty kept busy as she continued to travel to Navy reunions and she later found herself working as a volunteer in the Twin City Hospital Coffee Bar.She is survived by two sons, Roger (Vicki) Dominick of Dennison, Ohio and Keith Dominick of Morgantown, West Virginia; two daughters, Charlena Hammel of New Philadelphia and Arlena Dominick of Sarasota, Florida. Also surviving are three brothers, Donald Klotz of Malvern, Marion (Nora) Klotz of New Philadelphia, and Glen (Sharon) Klotz of Minerva; five sisters, Doris Chuirco of Malvern, Elsie (Robert) Borland also of Malvern, Carol (Clarence) Grindstaff of Carrollton, Darlene (Jim) Steffey of Minerva and Barb (Jim) Franks of Canton.She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren, Roger C. Dominick, Valarie (Dave) Nash, Heather (Brent) Reed, Gina (Jason) Bannevich, Andrea Dominick, Troy (Shawn) Hammel, Angela Dominick and Nathan Dominick; six great-grandchildren, Victoria Nash, Maggie Dominick, Dominick Bannevich, T.J. Lahaderne, Kailey Roberts and Kyle Roberts.Two expectant great-grandchildren complete the family.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister as well as a son-in-law, Jeff Hammel.The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2008, in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 5:00PM â?? 8:00PM and again on Saturday from 2:00PM â?? 4:00PM. Services will be led by Jeff Franks, nephew of Betty, in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday beginning at 4:00 PM. Burial along side her husband will follow in Gnadenhutten Union Cemetery at Gnadenhutten.At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s honor may be made to the Twin City Hospital Memorial Fund, 819 North 1st Street, Dennison, Ohio 44621.
