Betty Bresseur

January 22, 1933 — January 25, 2020

Betty Jane Bresseur, 87, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord on January 25, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Steubenville on January 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Perkins and Cora (Stewart) Perkins Smith.

After graduating from Scio High School, she married her late husband, James C. Bresseur on July 10, 1953 in Richmond, Indiana.

Betty’s faith was nurtured at the First Baptist Church. She also dearly loved spending time with her family and enjoyed walking her dog, talking on the phone, and traveling.

Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Victor (Kathy) Bresseur of Scio, Jamey (Michael) Kula of Dover, and Risa (Randy) Pierson of New Philadelphia; her sister, Oneida Slates of Carrollton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by her sister, Sunny Smith.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30 am with a service immediately following visitation at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow the service at Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
