Bertha Parsons

Bertha M. Parsons, 70, of New Philadelphia, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016.

A daughter of the late Noel and Florence (Croft) Ebersole, Bertha was born November 11, 1945 at Millersburg, Ohio.

Bertha enjoyed filling her free time with reading, puzzle books and embroidery.  She regularly attended the Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene.  Her biggest joy in life was her family; she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bertha is survived by her three children, Devin (Harry) Ott of Baltic, Shannon (Ed) Mathias of New Philadelphia, and Michael Parsons; four grandchildren, Chelsey (Cameron) Scott, Jessa Ott, Chad Mathias, and Blake Ott; two great grandchildren, Karlee and Krew Scott; three sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Smith, Juda (Sid) Schaar and Bessie Cox, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by the love of her life, Larry Parsons, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage, prior to his passing; her sister, Ada Mullet and two granddaughters, Emily and Bethany Ott.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5 to 8pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory.  A service celebrating Bertha’s life will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:30 am in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Lee Randolph officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
