Bertha Marie (Janes) Farringer, 79, of New Philadelphia, passed away October 22, 2013 at her home following a brief illness. Born January 3, 1934 in Marysville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Francis Janes.
Bertie was a long-time member of the New Philadelphia chapter of Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading, playing cards and doing crafts, from crochet to her famous pinecone wreaths.
She was a full-time wife to William Farringer, whom she married on November 8, 1954. She will be dearly missed by daughter, Terri Lyn (Todd) McClave of Dennison; Grandchildren Jessica (Chris) Ham of Parker, CO, Tyler (Eva) McClave of New Philadelphia and Erin (Marlin) Miller-McClave of Uhrichsville; and Great-grandchildren Nora, Adelyn, Emma, Delila, Ellison and Bennett. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia McCarter, and a great-grandson, William.
In accordance with Bertha’s wishes, cremation will take place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral home and a private family service will be held at Union Cemetery.
