Bernice T. Herron, age 86, of Dover, died peacefully early Friday morning, September 23, 2011 in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Horace “Com” and Myrtle Arrowood Browning, Bernice was born on April 26, 1925 at Canton, Ohio and graduated from Canton-McKinley High School.In 1945, she married Clarence D. “Sully” Seldenright and settled in Midvale, OH where the couple owned and operated Sully’s Truck Stop for numerous years. As a couple, they reared five children, Jim L. (Michele) Seldenright, Carol Sherrets, Sandy (George) Sours, Janet (Bill) Burk, and Jo Ann (Jim) Edie. Clarence preceded Bernice in death in 1983.When not caring for her family, Bernice enjoyed reading, playing cards, and fishing.In addition to her children, Bernice is survived by three brothers, Robert (Claudelle) Browning, Junior (Pat) Browning and Joseph Browning; 14 grandchildren, Jody (David) Jeffers, Jim (Mary) Seldenright, Lori (Steve) Laizure, Christan (Mike) Sears, Jennifer (Darren) Tomes, Sarah (Jason) Robinson, Bill (Crissy) Belba, Rita (Mark) Erb, Lisa (Adam) Reiger, Brian (Jennifer) Swinderman, Gina Elder, Suzanne (David) Haussermann, Sarah McGinnis, and Gary (Jess) Curtis.Twenty-three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to her parents and husband, Clarence, Bernice was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Browning, William Browning, John Browning, and Gene Browning; a sister, Betty Parr; and three grandsons, Ricky Goddard, Jason Goddard, and John Swinderman.In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. A private graveside service will be led by the Rev. Hugh B. Berry in the Ridgecrest Memorial Gardens.
