Beatrice Wolf, age 82, of Hennis Care Center at Dover, died Wednesday May 7, 2014, in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Gilbert and Gertrude (Meyers) Bankey, Bea was born July 15, 1931 in Gibsonburg, Ohio. A 1949 graduate of Napoleon High School, Bea married the love of her life, Duane W. Wolf on June 25 of the same year.

She was an active member of the Dover First United Methodist Church and the Mary Hannah Circle. In her early years, Bea served as a Den mother for her son’s Cub Scout pack and also enjoyed the fellowship of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary at New Philadelphia.

In her free time, Bea loved craft work that included cake decorating, crocheting, ceramic work, and creating floral arrangements. She also enjoyed reading the novels of Victoria Holt and Ellery Queen.

She is survived by three daughters Patti (William) Karl of New Philadelphia, Penny Wolf of Dover, and Marjorie Fox of Hilliard; two sisters Judy (Joel) Gibson of Napoleon, and Donna Burdue of Liberty Center; four brothers, Eugene (Karen) Bankey of Napoleon, Robert Travis of Genoa, Ohio, Dick Bankey of Georgia, and James (Elaine) Bankey of Sygnet, Ohio.

Grandchildren, Tricia Hostetler of Cincinnati, Tiffanie Kearns of Hilliard, Amy (Nate) Ady of Dover, Corey Wolf of Strasburg, Melissa Davidson of New Philadelphia, Ashley (Dusty) Tice of New Philadelphia, Jennifer (Jim) Conner, of Newcomerstown, Becky (Tom) Zurcher of Uhrichsville, and Harold “Haddie” (Nicole) Thompson of New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Stanley, Christian Engle, Zander and Lillian Ady, Gavin Kearns, Gracie Dunlap, Dalaney Tice, Jake, Kori, Wyatt, Emma and Audrie Conner, Sadie, Thomas and Samuel Zurcher, Gracie and Maddie Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; a son, Joseph; a great grand-child Jonathan; two brothers John and Marion Bankey and a sister, Helen Watkins.

The family will greet guests on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Pastor Shelly Nordine will lead a service celebrating Bea’s life in the Dover Funeral Center on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Following services, all are invited to join the family in the Funeral Center’s Hospitality Room for a time of food and fellowship.
