Beatrice Marie Dupper, age 86, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.Best known to her friends and family as Marie, she was a daughter of the late Newell and Beatrice (Price) Winters and was born at New Philadelphia on February 4, 1923.She was a member of New Philadelphia High School’s graduating class of 1940. On September 4, 1948, Marie married Victor H. Dupper at the Greenup, Kentucky Methodist Parsonage by Reverend B.I. Allen.A homemaker most of her life, Marie also worked for a number of years in the Ohio Department of Transportation office at New Philadelphia; where she worked in the bookkeeping and payroll department.Marie enjoyed filling her idle time working on various home improvement projects or carefully creating crafts that often included crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed helping others and would lend a hand to anyone who was in need.In addition to her husband of more than sixty years, Marie is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Debra Kay (Kevin) Taylor of Michigan; and a brother, Bernard (Mary) Winters of North Carolina.Three grandsons, Courtney (Katie) Taylor, Joshua Taylor and Darren Taylor; a great-grandson, Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, one hour prior to services, from 9:30 â?? 10:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Mark Unrue will lead a funeral service celebrating Marie’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Marie’s love for children and her helping hands were no secret to those who knew her. In doing so, the family requests that memorial contributions in Mrs. Dupper’s name are sent to the First Church of God, Youth Mission Fund, 824 Tuscarawas Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 or to a youth charity of the donor’s choice.
