Barry L. Jenkins, 56, of Dover, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 2, 2013.

A son of Geraldine (Wise) Jenkins of New Philadelphia and the late Harry Jenkins, Barry was born in Union Hospital at Dover on December 16, 1956.

Barry graduated from Indian Valley North High School in 1975. He then went to work for what is now known at Graphic Packaging and has been an employee for 38 years. He was a member of Roxford United Methodist Church.

He will be remembered for being a jack of all trades and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Barry was an avid sports fan and he took great pride in coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He was a fan of Ohio State Football and was a longtime season ticket holder and supporter of the Dover Tornadoes Football program. He enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen’s music and also took great pride in his 1966 Sting Ray Corvette.

Barry dearly loved his family and his favorite times were family gatherings as well as vacationing with his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda (McCune) Jenkins, whom he married on September 2, 1983; his daughter, Tara Jenkins of Dover whom was the joy of his life; a sister, Sharon Beamer of Roswell, a brother, Richard (Dottie) Jenkins of Dover; his mother-in-law, Margene McCune of Dover; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bonnie and Marvin Croy of New Philadelphia; a brother-in-law, Scott McCune of Dover and his nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Barry’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Ron Heasley officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the Hospitality Room at the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
