January 28, 1942 — August 14, 2020

Barbara M. Airhart, 78, of Navarre, passed away at her residence on Friday, August 14, 2020.

One of seven children born to the late Julia Raye Harrelson and Malcolm B. Campbell, Barbara was born in Brewton, Alabama on January 28, 1942.

Barbara met her husband, Charles William “Chuck” Airhart, while he was in the service and stationed in Alabama. They fell in love and were married April 28, 1958. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in September 2018.

Barbara had a passion for flower gardening and caring for house plants, she would often tell her family that she was “playing in the dirt.” She loved crafting and designing things that she would take and sell at craft shows. She was an avid reader and loved going to the beach. Following her husband’s heart transplant in August 1999, she became his full-time care giver. Barbara had a beautiful soul, and everyone who met her loved her.

Barbara is survived by her five children, Vicki (Roger) Offenberger of Massillon, Charles (Karen) Airhart, Michele (Roy) Randolph of Strasburg, Robyn Michaels of Bolivar, and Michael Airhart of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Crissy Brady, Bart (Heather) Randolph, Nicollette Airhart, Nathan Randolph, Kris Reed, and Claudia Airhart; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Damien, Natalie Brady, and Adian and Aria Holland; a sister, Karen Work, and a brother, George Campbell, both of Pensacola, Florida, and her best friend and sister-in-law, Dixie Witter of Navarre.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Ezel Campbell and James E. Campbell; two sisters, Rose Mary Gentry and Patricia Murray and a special niece, Terri Rose Mansfield.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.

Barbara has been an advocate for organ donation since her husband received his transplant. In her memory, the family requests contributions in her name be directed to Donate Life America, 701 East Byrd Street, 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219, or by visiting donatelife.net.
