Barbara Lee Miller, 69, of Uhrichsville, died Friday, April 2, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover surrounded by her family.A daughter of the late Edmund and Eleanor (Endorf) Baker, Barb was born February 20, 1941 at Peoria, Illinois.Barb graduated from Peoria High School in 1959. Following graduation, she enlisted with the United States Navy and honorably served her country while stationed at Norfolk, Virginia and Great Lakes, Illinois.She worked as a Nurses Aide for nearly 40 years and during that time Barb was employed by Valley Manor Nursing Home, Union Hospital and as a Home Health Aide.Barb was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover where she was a Secret Sister and enjoyed baking sugar cakes. She was a Past President of the local chapter of Parents without Partners and a Past Commander of the local chapter of the Navy Mothers Club of America. Barb was a Cub Scout Den Leader for Pack #181 as well as an Assistant Leader for the Girl Scouts of America.She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by a daughter, Mia (Alan) Sadolsky of Uhrichsville; two sons, Douglas Miller of Uhrichsville and Bryan (Tonya) Miller of Bolivar; her grandchildren, Maggi (Billy) Moran of Sugarcreek, Virginia Miller of New Philadelphia, Linda Sadolsky of Uhrichsville, Danny Sadolsky of Uhrichsville, Mark Sadolsky, a National Guard MP currently stationed in Iraq, Justin Sadolsky of Uhrichsville, Breanna Ervin Miller of Bolivar and Casandra Ervin Miller of Bolivar; her great grandchildren, George Matthew Moran and Patrick William Moran and one expectant great grandchild; two sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Brown and Beverly Loftgren both of Peoria, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Richard Loftgren.Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Barb’s life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Following the service, a memorial reception will be held in the fellowship hall at the church.Contributions may be made in Barb’s memory to the First Moravian Church, 319 North Walnut Street, Dover, OH 44622.
