Barbara Lee Gibbs

Barbara Lee Gibbs, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Monday February 6, 2006 at her residence.A daughter of the late Jennings Forrest and Bonnie Board Winbigler, Barbara was born February 19, 1922, in Jeromesville, Ohio.She had resided in Jeromesville, O., Dover, O. and New Philadelphia, O. and was a 1940 graduate of Dover High School.Barbara was a long time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia, where she formerly was active in the choir, she belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, and was a member of AARP, she was a member of the New Philadelphia Lady Elks, enjoyed vacationing with the “Golden Girls” on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, will be recalled by many from her golfing day’s at Green Valley Golf Club and will be remembered by her family as a strong and loving mother, grandmother and sister.She is survived by sons, Steven E. (Peg) Gibbs, of Massillon, O., Robert D. Gibbs, of New Philadelphia and Richard B. (Wendy) Gibbs, of New Philadelphia; sister, Connie Lahr, of Dover; and grandchildren, Joe Gibbs, of Massillon, O., Elizabeth Gibbs, of Bloomington, IN., and Neil and Charlie Gibbs, of New Philadelphia; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Bill Jenkins, of New Philadelphia.She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Eugene K. Gibbs.Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2006, from 1 to 3 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia with church council services at 7:50 p.m. Services will be conducted by Pastor Michael Walters on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib chapel. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery, in New Philadelphia.
