Barbara L. Thompson, 78, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover following a lengthy illness.A daughter of the late Jesse Lawrence and Emma Alice Baltzell Huff, Barbara was born June 15, 1930 at Uhrichsville.On June 12, 1947 she married Donale E. Thompson, He preceded her in death in 1989. Barbara was a Jehovah’s Witness, and attended the New Philadelphia Kingdom Hall. Barbara had strong faith in the words of John 5:28, 29 where it speaks of the resurrection hope and in Psalm 37, 10, 11, 29 where the bible speaks of the meek inheriting the earth and living forever, “in the abundance of peace”. She is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Connie and Robert Stimmel, of Malvern, Donna and Dennis Ostrowski, of Scottsdale, AZ, Patricia and Jimmy Stewart, of New Philadelphia, Victoria and Greg Forquer, of Peoria, AZ and Carla and Douglas Sexton, of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Michael Stimmel, Kimberly Hudson, Shannon Stimmel, Daniel Hull, Tracy Hull, Kelly Hall, Lindsey Forquer and Katelyn Sexton; a sister, Madelyn Barthalow and seven great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kasaundra Sexton; two brothers and three sisters.Visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with David Vierheller officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.
