Arthur “Art” D. Scott, 80, of Stone Creek, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 18, 2007, following a sudden illness.A son of the late William L. and Ovia Davison Scott, Art was born on May 11, 1927, in his family’s residence at Mineral City.He was a World War II veteran, was retired from the Stone Creek Brick Company, following 37 years of service, was a member of the Barrs Mill Church of God and the National Rifle Association.Art was an avid outdoorsman, known throughout the community for raising and training beagles. He also enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, farming and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Maxine “Mickey” Snyder, whom he married on November 18, 1944; sons, Art (Sue) Scott, of Stone Creek, Chuck (Judy) Scott, of Stone Creek, John (Jona) Scott, of Port Washington and Jim (Pam) Scott, of Strasburg; a daughter, Nancy (Mark) Schwartz, of Warsaw, Ohio; grandchildren, Greg (Monica) Scott, of New Philadelphia, Wendy (Gary) Shumaker, of New Philadelphia, Tim (Sommer) Scott, of Gnadenhutten, Julie Scott, of Dover, Kristie (Jeff) Lillibridge, of Avon Lake, OH, Aaron, Jamie and Marci Schwartz, all of Warsaw, OH; great grandchildren, Ben and Katie Scott, Nathan and Kelly Shumaker, Justin, Casey and Colton Scott; and a sister, Ellen Schlimm, of Strasburg.Art was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dorothy McCartney and brothers, William and Jerry Scott.Visitation will be held Thursday, September, 20, 2007, (today) from 2:00pm. to 4:00 pm. and 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 am in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Bill Jeffress officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery.
