Arline Marie McMillin, 96, of Stone Creek, died Wednesday, September 07, 2016, in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
Born at Stone Creek on July 26, 1920, Arline was a daughter of the late William “Al” and Katherine “Katie” (Laub) Baker.
She was the last surviving member of the former Stone Creek School’s class of 1937. She married the love of her life, William E. McMillin on July 26, 1941 and together the couple reared two children and shared in 37 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 21, 1978.
Arline was active in her church, Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was also a member of the Jefferson Grange and a former member of the Stone Creek Sirens. She enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians, playing card games, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her children, Dan (Pat) McMillin of Kent and Judy (Hal) Lahmers of Newcomerstown; a grandson, Jason (Jen) McMillin of Hartville; her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Nicole, Hannah, and Lauren McMillin all of Hartville; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Gordon of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Arline was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, Harold, Russell, and Herb Baker, and her sisters, Carrie Arbogast, Helen Stoller and Sylvia Loos.
The family will greet guests on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 1-3 PM in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Ellen Mills will lead a 3 PM service. Burial will follow in the Stone Creek Cemetery. Following services, all are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
